Founder, Professional Coach
Jake Carrillo is entering his 23rd year of coaching baseball in California, Nevada, Washington and Oregon at levels ranging from Little League to high school to semi-pro. Several of Jake's students have gone on to play college baseball, and a few have reached the professional ranks. In 2015-2016 Jake was the varsity pitching coach at Sonoma Academy College Prepatory. The 2016 pitching staff broke the California state record, throwing six consecutive no hitters. Jake is currently the hands-on operator of his own baseball school in Southern Marin, training hundreds of youngsters in every facet of baseball skills and strategy. Jake also runs summer youth baseball camps for players of all skill levels.
Jake has been successfully coaching youth travel baseball teams since 2005. In his first season Jake was the Head Coach for the 11U North Bay Extreme travel team, which won the Central Regional Travel-Ball Championship in Burnsville, MN. In the 2007 and 2008 seasons, Jake was the Head Coach of the North Bay Dynamite travel team (10U and 11U, respectively), which had one 1st place finish and three 2nd place finishes in tournaments throughout Northern California. As both the Manager and Head Coach, the 2009 Golden Gate Sliders was the first youth travel baseball team entirely under Jake’s leadership. This inaugural team had two 1st place finishes and three 2nd place finishes. Jake has had the priveledge to coach six different Sliders teams in Cooperstown, NY and 5 Sliders teams in Steamboat Springs, CO and 1 Sliders team in Aberdeen, MD.
Back in high school, Jake was a standout pitcher at Santa Rosa High School, making the North Bay All League First Team in 1993, 1994, and 1995. After high school, Jake played at Santa Rosa Junior College, CA. Since college, Jake has played on a number of semi-pro baseball teams and was offered a job as the pitching coach for the professional Sioux Falls Canaries in 2004 as well as a Major League scouting position for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2005. Jake has played in the Redwood Empire Baseball League since 2006 where he has been selected to six All Star Teams and won the 2007 REBL Cy Young Award.
Jake and Aileen live on a cherry farm with their two children Jacoby and Alani, who have grown up on the baseball fields, cheering on the Sliders.
Lead Instructor, Professional Coach
Derek DeLaTorre is an eleventh year instructor and coach with the Golden Gate Sliders program. He was the Assistant Coach of the 11/12U Golden Gate Sliders in 2009 and was also the Assistant Coach with Jake for the 11U North Bay Extreme travel team, which won the Central Regional Travel-Ball Championship in Burnsville, MN in the 2005 season. Derek has been the 13U Head Coach since 2010. His most recent championship was in Steamboat Springs, CO the summer of 2013 where the Sliders 13U team won 5 straight games to win the silver bracket. Derek has also taken Sliders teams to Cooperstown, NY and Omaha, NE. Derek is at all the Sliders Summer Baseball Camps and is Jake's right hand man (and his younger brother). When he is not coaching or playing baseball, you can find Derek on the basketball court.
As a player, Derek was a standout pitcher at Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park, CA. Derek has played in the Redwood Empire Baseball League since 2006, where he has been selected four times to the All Star Team.
Derek and Tara welcomed their first child Dawson Monroe in 2013.

Instructor, Professional Coach
Ray is returning to the Sliders program this upcoming 2018 season as the 12U head coach. He started out as an instructor for the Sliders program in 2007 and has worked with hundreds of kids over the years. He has coached past 11U and 12U Sliders teams and in 2012 coached a week in Cooperstown,NY. In 2013 Ray started the travelball team West County Rascals out of Sebastopol, California.
Ray grew up in Orange County California where he was awarded CIF first team honors his junior and senior years, while ranking in the top 3 in ERA, stikeouts and wins. This lefty also threw a handful of no hitters/perfect games. He continued his pitching success at Orange Coast Community College and has played in the Redwood Empire Baseball League since 2006.
Ray is married to wife Kellie and has two children, Josh and Norah.

Christian is in his sixth year with the Golden Gate Sliders program serving as the 13U assistant coach. He specializes in hitting and brings a ton of passion and energy towards coaching. He played a big part in winning a championship in Steamboat Springs, CO during the summer of 2013 where the Sliders 13U team won 5 straight games to win the silver bracket. Christian has also assisted Sliders teams to Cooperstown, NY and Omaha, NE. Christian played at Santa Rosa Junior College and at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, Arizona. An ACL injury ended his college career earlier than expected. Since 2002, he has played baseball in the Tri-Valley men's league as well as the Redwood Empire Baseball League. Christian owns multiple league leading home run titles.
Christian and his wife Kristen have a son, Camden.
Glenn is entering his third year coaching with the Golden Gate Sliders. In 2016 he was Jake's assitant coach and played a key part in the teams successful 17-4 fall record. In 2017,,Glenn was the head coach of the 13U team taking them to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This upcoming 2018 season, he will be the 11U assistant coach and will serve as one of the programs pitching coordinators. Prior to coaching in Marin County, Glenn spent 12 years coaching high school in Sonoma County.
Glenn grew up in Santa Rosa California, where he was a standout pitcher for Montgomery High School. He lettered all three years and received player of the year honors his senior season. He was the starting pitcher at Santa Rosa Junior College and played his final two seasons of college ball at CSUS Chico. He helped the Wildcats reach the D2 final four tournament.
Glenn is married to wife Diana and has two adult children Sydney and Camryn.
